What is a carbon laser facial?
A carbon laser facial is a quick, non-invasive laser treatment for oily, congested or dull skin. A fine layer of medical carbon is spread over the face and settles into the pores, then a laser breaks it up, taking excess oil, dead cells and surface debris with it.
The name "Hollywood peel" comes from its popularity before red-carpet events: skin looks fresher and more matte straight away. Unlike a chemical peel, there is usually no visible peeling afterwards.

How does a carbon laser facial work?
The carbon layer absorbs laser energy. When the laser passes over it, the carbon heats and breaks apart, lifting oil and dead cells out of the pores and gently warming the skin beneath. Carbon peels are commonly performed with an Nd:YAG laser. At Laser & More, we use the 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength on our Candela GentleMax Pro or Quanta System Duetto MT EVO.

Preparation & aftercare
How should I prepare for a carbon laser facial?
Arrive with untanned skin, free of sunburn, and pause retinoids and strong acids for a few days beforehand, as advised. After your carbon facial, skin may look slightly pink for a short time; keep it moisturised, avoid heat and wear SPF 50 every day.

How long do carbon laser facial results last?
Most people see brighter, more matte skin straight after one carbon laser facial, which is why it is a favourite before events. That immediate effect is temporary. Changes in oiliness and pore appearance build with a course of sessions and last longer with a good home routine.
