What is the Candela GentleMax Pro?

The GentleMax Pro is a dual-wavelength laser platform made by Candela. It houses an Alexandrite laser (755nm) and an Nd:YAG laser (1064nm) in one machine, so the specialist can switch wavelengths to suit each client's skin tone and hair, even between body areas in the same session.

Every pulse is paired with a burst of cryogen from the Dynamic Cooling Device, which protects the skin surface and helps keep treatment comfortable. Large spot sizes let big areas such as the legs and back be covered quickly.

Why we chose it

Why do we use the GentleMax Pro for laser hair removal?

Dubai is home to every skin tone, so a clinic needs a laser that can treat fair and deep skin safely. The GentleMax Pro combines two wavelengths, built-in cryogen cooling and large spot sizes, which means safe settings, comfortable sessions and efficient coverage for every client.

01

Treats all skin types

755nm for lighter skin and 1064nm for darker skin cover Fitzpatrick types I–VI.

02

DCD comfort cooling

A burst of cryogen cools the skin just before each laser pulse.

03

Fast sessions

Large spot sizes treat big areas in fewer passes.

04

Long-lasting results

Precise follicle targeting gives long-term hair reduction after a full course.

Two lasers in one

Alexandrite 755nm vs Nd:YAG 1064nm: what's the difference?

The 755nm Alexandrite wavelength is strongly absorbed by melanin, making it fast and effective on lighter skin with dark hair. The 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates deeper and is absorbed less by surface pigment, making it the safer choice for darker skin and deep, coarse hair.

Comfort & protection

How does the Dynamic Cooling Device work?

The Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) sprays a short burst of cryogen onto the skin a split second before each laser pulse. This cools the outer layer of skin, protecting it from heat while the laser energy reaches the follicle below, and makes each pulse feel more comfortable.

Because the cooling is built into the handpiece, there's no need for cold gels. Most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap followed by a cool feeling.

01

Cryogen spray

A precise burst cools the skin surface.

02

Laser pulse

Light passes into the skin and heats the pigment in the hair follicle.

03

Skin stays protected

The cooled surface lowers the risk of heat damage and discomfort.

Fitzpatrick scale

Which skin types can be treated?

The GentleMax Pro can treat all six Fitzpatrick skin types, from very fair (type I) to deep brown or black (type VI). Lighter skin is usually treated with 755nm Alexandrite and darker skin with 1064nm Nd:YAG, with the final choice made after a skin assessment.

Safety standards

How do we keep laser treatment safe?

Safe laser treatment depends on the operator as much as the machine. Every GentleMax Pro session at Laser & More is carried out by a trained, licensed specialist, with eye protection for everyone in the room and a skin assessment before your first session.

Eye protection

Clients and specialists wear laser-safe eyewear matched to the wavelength in use.

Skin assessment

We check your skin type and hair before your first session and match settings to both.

Licensed operators

Treatments are performed by DHA-licensed nurses and laser specialists.

FAQs

GentleMax Pro questions, answered

Answers from our laser specialists. See all FAQs for more.

Is the Candela GentleMax Pro safe?

Yes, when operated by a trained, licensed specialist. Two wavelengths and built-in cryogen cooling let settings be matched to your skin.

We assess your skin first and use laser-safe eyewear at every session.

Does the GentleMax Pro work on dark skin?

Yes. Its 1064nm Nd:YAG wavelength is suitable for darker skin, Fitzpatrick types IV–VI.

It bypasses much of the pigment in the skin's surface and targets the follicle deeper down.

Does it work on blonde, grey or red hair?

Usually not well. Laser targets pigment, so very light, grey, white or red hair responds poorly.

Your specialist will assess your hair at consultation and advise honestly.

How is the GentleMax Pro different from IPL?

IPL uses a broad spectrum of light, while the GentleMax Pro is a laser with two precise wavelengths, 755nm and 1064nm.

Precise wavelengths allow more controlled targeting of the follicle for each skin type.

Does treatment with the GentleMax Pro hurt?

Most clients describe it as comfortable, with a quick snap like a rubber band flick.

The Dynamic Cooling Device cools the skin before every pulse.
