How do botulinum toxin injections soften wrinkles?
Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signal that tells a small facial muscle to contract. With less contraction, the skin above it creases less, so lines caused by frowning, squinting or raising your brows look softer. It works on dynamic lines, the ones that appear when you move.
Lines that are still visible when your face is completely relaxed may be etched into the skin. Injections can soften them over time, but they often respond best alongside skin treatments, which is why the doctor may suggest a wider anti-wrinkle treatment plan.

How should I prepare for anti-wrinkle injections, and what's the aftercare?
Preparation is simple: avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand and tell the doctor about any medication, especially blood thinners. Afterwards, stay upright for a few hours, don't rub the treated area and skip intense exercise for 24 hours so the product stays where it was placed.
